Scholarships and Financial Assistance

Regular students can avail of the different scholarships which can be applied for by filling up the official Scholarship Form to be submitted to the Office of the President for Approval.

Entrance and Academic Scholarships

The following shall enjoy the scholarships awarded to them until completion of their preferred course:

  • Valedictorians - full scholarship (free tuition and miscellaneous fees)
  • Salutatorians -100% scholarship (free tuition fees)
  • 1st Honorable Mention -75% discount on tuition fee
  • 2nd Honorable Mention - 50% discount on tuition fee
  • 3rd up to 8th Honorable Mention - 25% discount on tuition fee

Procedure and Requirements:

  1. Applicants must submit to the registrar a certificate coming from the principal that he/she graduated from a class of not less than 40.
  2. Upon receipt of the certification, the registrar will recommend the student for the corresponding scholarship to be approved by the president or his duly authorized representative.
  3. Present the Recommendation approved by the President to the System’s Office to apply corresponding discount.
  4. When posted by the System’s Office, the System’s Office retains a copy, another copy is given to the Registrar and one copy for the student.

The student enjoys the same scholarship until graduation provided that he/she maintains a grade not lower the 85% in all his/her subjects in very semester.

Academic Excellence Scholarships

One Hundred Percent and fifty percent Scholarships may be availed of by any student upon the recommendation of the Dean concerned. The student must meet the following:

  1. Has taken the regular load as prescribed by the curriculum
  2. Has obtained the highest weighted average for 100% and second highest for 50%
  3. Has obtained an average grade of 91% and above in all the subjects in the year level in the course enrolled in the previous semester.

Procedure and Requirements:

  1. An applicant must get a Certification from the Custodian that he/she obtained the highest or second highest weighted average and no grade lower than 91% for each subject enrolled in the previous semester.
  2. Present the Certification to the Registrar to secure Application Form.
  3. The Registrar will recommend the student for the corresponding scholarship to be approved by the President or his duly authorized representative.
  4. Present the Recommendation approved by the President to the System’s Office to apply corresponding discount.
  5. When posted by the System’s Office, the System’s Office retains a copy, another copy is given to the Registrar and one copy for the student.

The Student has to apply for the scholarship every semester and must meet the requirements indicated.

Athletic Scholarships

These are granted to students in recognition of their outstanding activities and performances during athletic competitions.

Procedure and Requirements for New Applications:

  1. Submit the following to the office of the Director of Sports Development.
  2. Submit original copy and 3 photocopies of NSO/Birth Certificate
  3. Six (6) pcs passport size ID picture
  4. Certification/Recognition of outstanding athletic performance form lower to higher meets with athletes ID
  5. Certification from the Sports Coordinator of the School where he/she graduated.
  6. Photocopy of form 137
  7. Long brown envelop
  8. After reviewing the documents, a written recommendation from the Sports Director is provided.
  9. Present the written recommendation to the office of student affairs.
  10. Fill up the UCV-OSA-FOO4 Form for Scholarship and tuition fee discount application.
  11. Seek for the approval and signature indicated in the form.
  12. Present the form to the System’s Office to apply corresponding discount.
  13. Give the copy of the OSA as indicated, System’s Office retains a copy and a student’s copy.

For old athletic Scholars, seek a written recommendation from the Sports Development Director and follow step 3 to 7.

Campus Publication (Norluzonian) Scholarship.

The Editor in Chief of the Norluzonian enjoys full scholarship during the entire term of his/her appointment. Other staffers are granted a lesser percentage of scholarship as determined by the Editorial Board based on the responsibility of the position and the performance during the semester. Recommendation of the Editorial Board shall be submitted to the President for final approval.

Supreme Student Body (SSB) President Scholarship.

Full Scholarship is granted to the SSB President for the entire period of his/her term. Other elected officers are granted 50% tuition fee discount to be recommended by the Adviser at the end of every semester based on their performance.

Procedure and Requirements (Campus Publication and SSB)

  1. Get a written recommendation from the Adviser.
  2. Present the written recommendation to the Office of Student Affairs.
  3. Fill up the UCV-OSA-FOO4 Form for Scholarship and Tuition Fee Discount Application.
  4. Seek for the approval and signature indicated in the form.
  5. Present the form to the system office to apply corresponding discount.
  6. Give the copy of the OSA as indicated, Systems Office retains a copy and a student’s copy.

Cultural Artists Scholarships (Dance Troupe, Thespian and Choir/Band)

A deserving member may be given scholarship depending on his/her ability, skill and versatility in acting, singing, dancing and playing instruments for band scholars.

Procedure and Requirements (Culture Artists, Athletics, SSB, and Campus Publication Scholarships):

  1. An Applicant must get a recommendation letter from the Coordinator/Adviser of the Unit.
  2. Secure a Scholarship Form (UCV-OSA- FOO4) from the Office of Student Affairs.
  3. Fill u the Form.
  4. The Director of OSA will recommend the Student for the corresponding scholarship to be approved by the President or his duly authorized representative.
  5. Present the form to the System’s Office to apply corresponding discount.
  6. Submit the copy of the form to the OSA.

Founders’ Scholars

UCV gives full scholarship (free tuition and miscellaneous fees) to students who shall stay in the houses of qualified officers and members of the Administration where they will help in the domestic chores. Qualified applicants shall enjoy free board and lodging and other privileges the officer may assign to him/her. The scholarship form is provided by the Office of the Human Resource Director.

Student Assistance Program

UCV grants 100% scholarship (free tuition fees) to students who shall quality to work as student assistants in the different offices in the University. These students shall work in the assigned offices 5 hours a day from Monday to Saturday of which should not be in conflict with their class schedules.

Requirement for new Applicants:

  1. Appli style="font-weight:normal;margin-top:0"cation letter address to the Director of Student Affairs
  2. Certificate of latest grades
  3. Certificate of Good Moral Character
  4. Certificate of Indigency
  5. 1 pc 2”x 2” ID Picture

Procedure:

  1. Bring the requirements needed and submit to OSA for interview.
  2. If qualified and a slot is available, a note shall be given by the DSA to the office requesting for students assistant for another interview of the applicant by the Immediate Supervisor.
  3. The Immediate Supervisor has to inform the DSA if the applicant is fit to work base on the requirements needed by the office.
  4. Secure a Scholarship Form (UCV-OSA-FOO4) from the Office of Student Affairs.
  5. Fill up the Form.
  6. Seek for the approval and signature indicated in the form.
  7. Present the form to the Systems Office to apply corresponding discount.
  8. Give a copy of the form to the OSA as indicated, Systems Office retains a copy and a student’s copy.

The Student Assistant has to submit a copy of his/her schedule of classes and schedule of work in the OSA. Student Assistants are evaluated by the end of the semester using the form UCV-OSA-FOO2, the Evaluation of Student Assistant’s Performance and should accomplish UCV-OSA-FOO3, the Student Assistant Semestral Clearance.

Presidential Decree No. 577 Scholarship

In Support to President Decree No. 577 which states that Dependents of military personnel who die or become incapacitated in line of duty be exempted from the payment of tuition fee…, the University awards one scholarship slot for every 2,000 enrolees.

NSTP Scholarship

The NSTP Unit of the University awards full scholarship to a poor but deserving student who meets the criteria set by the Unit.

Procedure and Requirements:

  1. An Applicant must get a recommendation letter from the NSTP Director.
  2. Secure a Scholarship Form (UCV-OSA-FOO4) from the Office of Student Affairs.
  3. Fill up the Form.
  4. Seek for the approval and signature indicated in the form.
  5. Present the form to the System’s Office to apply corresponding discount.
  6. Submit the copy of the form to the OSA.

Special Scholarships

The University awards the following scholarship grants for two semesters to:

  1. Mr. and Miss UCV—Full Scholarship
  2. 1st Runners-Up—100% Scholarship
  3. 2nd Runners-Up– 75% Scholarship
  4. Third Runners-Up—50% Scholarship

Procedure and Requirements:

  1. An Applicant must get a Certification duly signed by the Dean
  2. Present the Certification to the OSA to secure Scholarship Form (UCV-OSA-FOO4).
  3. The DSA will recommended the student for the corresponding scholarship discount to be approved by the President or his duly authorized representative.
  4. Present the form to the System’s Office to apply corresponding discount.
  5. When posted by the System’s Office, the System’s Office retains a copy, another copy is given to the OSA and one copy for the student.

Sponsored Scholarships

The University grants individual sponsored scholarships to deserving students. These include the Totoy Adduru Scholarship, Corazon Salvador Grant, Salina Ng Grant, Rowe-Bromwich Grant and Tristan Fereer Perez Grant. Scholarship.

Government Scholarship/Study Loan Program

This is granted by the Government of the Philippines to deserving students.

  • Tuition Fee Discount

    A reduction in tuition fee may be granted to a student in the form of discounts in the following conditions:

  • Discount for Family Members

    A special discount on tuition fees for a semester/term is awarded to a family with 2 or more immediate members currently enrolled at UCV. The following discounts are applied as follows:

    • 2 immediate members 5.0%
    • 3 immediate members 7.5%
    • 4 immediate members 10.0%
    • 5 immediate members 12.5%
    • 6 or more immediate members 15.0%
  • Discount for Full Payment

    A discount of 10% is granted for full payment upon registration.

  • Discount for UCV Employees and their Direct Dependents

    Fifty percent (50%) discount on tuition fees is granted to UCV full-time employees and their direct dependents on one course or program enrolled in a semester or term:

    • Married employees - Spouse and unmarried children
    • Single employees - unmarried brothers and sisters.
  • Discount for Sangguniang Kabataan Chair

    A 10% discount on tuition fee is granted to a SK Chair upon submission of the Certificate issued by the DILG that he/she is the incumbent SK Chair.

  • Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System (AFPEBS) Scholarship
  • The University in partnership with AFPEBS awards 25% tuition fee discount to sons and daughters of members of the AFP
