Brief Institutional Profile
The University of Cagayan Valley (UCV), formerly known as Cagayan Teachers College (CTC) and later Cagayan Colleges Tuguegarao (CCT), is the first private non-sectarian institution in Cagayan Valley Region located in the heart of Tuguegarao City, capital of Cagayan Province.
Founded in 1948 by Dr. Matias Ponce Perez, Sr., the Institution became a University in 2010 under the leadership of Dr. Victor V. Perez who was its President for forty years.
Situated in two campuses, the College Avenue Campus and the Balzain Campus with an area of some eight (8) hectares, UCV offers three (3) Doctorate Degrees, four (4) Master’s Degrees, twenty-one (21) Baccalaureate Degrees, two (2) Post-Baccalaureate Degrees, six (6) Pre-Baccalaureate degrees, two (2) Post-Secondary Technical Courses, Complete Secondary Level, Complete Elementary Level (K-12) and two (2) Terminal Programs, with a total of thirty (30) Recognized Programs and eight (8) Registered Certificate Programs. From the programs offered, the Institution maintains the following schools and colleges: College of Health, College of Law, College of Maritime Education, College of Marine Transportation, College of Technology, College of Engineering, College of Computer Engineering and Information Technology, College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, School of Arts and Sciences and Teacher Education, School of Business Education, School of Criminology and Graduate School.
To ensure quality and excellence, the University continuously undergoes PACUCOA accreditation and was even awarded with the Most Number of PACUCOA Accredited Programs in Region 2 from 2019 to 2022. It also operates under a Quality Management System institutionally based on the applicable elements of ISO 9001:2015 and DNVGL Standard 0029 particularly for Maritime Education Programs.
Complete with educational facilities and services, UCV has been producing quality graduates, a number of which are passers and even national and regional topnotchers. Its alumni are gainfully employed in public and private organizations not only in the Philippines but also in other countries.
At present, the global competitiveness and comparability of the University of Cagayan Valley is being strengthened by its first lady president, Dr. Esther Susan N. Perez-Mari, MSc-FM, MD, PhD, an eminent and internationally reputed scientist-researcher, who is now leading 13,000 students and ______employees to a higher zenith of quality and excellence along research, instruction and community extension in consonance with UCV Philosophy, Vision and Mission.
